Product Overview

Pro JYM. The anabolic protein powder created and used by Dr. Jim Stoppani. High Quality Protein Blend for Maximal Muscle Growth.

"JYM Supplement Science combines real science with best-in-class ingredients and precise doses to deliver unreal results. Pro JYM is my exclusive protein blend designed to help you build muscle, recover faster, and train stronger. Whether you want to boost strength, add size, or get shredded, Pro JYM is for you. It's a powerful blend of proteins that add up to pure muscle fuel."

Grow Like a Pro

Each scoop of Pro JYM delivers 24 grams of pure, quality protein. It’s not "spiked" with single amino acids to artificially increase the protein content or made with cheap and inferior whey protein concentrate or caseinates. To make Pro JYM, I selected only the highest quality whey protein isolate, micellar casein, milk protein isolate, and egg white protein (egg albumin).

The 24 grams of protein in each scoop of Pro JYM contain the following:• Whey protein isolate: 7.5g

  • Whey protein isolate: 7.5g
  • Micellar casein: 7g
  • Egg albumin: 2.5g
  • Milk protein isolate: 7g (5.5g casein, 1.5g whey)

Since milk protein isolate is 20 percent whey protein and 80 percent micellar casein, the 24 grams of protein in Pro JYM are really broken down into three main categories:

Protein chart
A Blend is Best

While a high-quality protein powder should be at the top of everyone's supplement shopping list, don't make the common mistake of buying a pure whey protein powder right off the bat. Yes, whey protein is a critical staple for muscle growth, but to truly maximize growth, you need more than just whey. You need a precise blend of performance proteins.

Whey is a very fast-digesting protein. The rapid rate of digestion is one of whey's benefits, but on its own, this quality can actually be a downfall. Because whey digests so fast, it quickly boosts muscle protein synthesis (MPS). However, it only boosts MPS for a short amount of time.

Research now shows that when you add medium-digesting and slow-digesting proteins to whey, muscle protein synthesis remains elevated for longer than when using whey alone. Since muscle protein synthesis leads to muscle growth, elevating muscle protein synthesis for longer can have a significant impact on your overall gains.

In fact, research suggests that people who add slow-digesting casein protein to a whey protein shake around their workouts enjoy greater muscle growth over time than people taking whey alone. This research is the very reason I recommend taking a blend of fast-digesting whey protein, medium-digesting egg protein, and slow-digesting micellar casein.

Say No to Protein Spiking!

Many supplement manufacturers cut corners on their protein powders because high-quality protein is very expensive to make. They often use a dirty trick called “nitrogen spiking.” Nitrogen spiking, also called “amino spiking” or “protein spiking,” is a way to manipulate the test used to measure the protein content of protein powders.

The current method used to assess the amount of protein in a protein powder involves measuring the nitrogen content, which is then converted into protein amount. Nitrogen is used because protein is made of amino acids strung together in a chain, much like a pearl necklace, and every amino acid contains nitrogen. If manufacturers add loose amino acids to a powder, they can fool the test and deliver less pure protein than their labels claim.

Many people think that extra amino acids in their protein powder are beneficial. The major problem, however, is that certain amino acids are not added to make the protein powder more effective. Instead, they're simply added for their nitrogen. Most single amino acids, such as taurine and glycine, are much cheaper than whey protein, casein protein, milk protein, or egg protein. Even highly beneficial amino acids like BCAAs and glutamine are cheaper than protein powder. So, by adding a bunch of cheaper amino acids to their protein powders, supplement companies can boost their nitrogen content, which technically means they boost the amount of protein per serving, at least according to the nitrogen test.

Because the added amino acids are not complete proteins, the protein content of a spiked protein powder is not truly what a nitrogen test claims it is. For example, a whey protein powder may claim to contain 20 grams of protein per scoop. However, if the manufacturer added 5 grams of glycine per serving, then you are only getting 15 grams of actual whey protein and 5 grams of glycine, which would read as 20 grams of protein per serving.

An even bigger problem arises when proteins are spiked with amino acids that aren't used as building blocks to form proteins in the body. Taurine is once such amino acid. Taurine helps with energy production, so you might first be excited to see a high quantity of it in your protein. However, if 5 grams of taurine has been added to your protein powder that claims to contain 20 grams of protein per serving, you are only getting 15 grams of real protein and 5 grams of taurine. So the extra taurine comes at the expense of total protein.

If your favorite protein powder lists BCAAs, glutamine, beta-alanine, betaine (trimethylglycine), or creatine, you might think it’s a great product because of the additional nutrients. Yes, your protein contains these performance nutrients, but you may be getting them at the expense of the protein, not in addition to the protein. All those ingredients are nitrogen-containing compounds that count towards the total protein amount listed on the label. You might be getting up to 10 grams less protein per serving than listed on the label.

The rampant use of nitrogen spiking is the main reason why I list the precise amount of each protein in every 24 gram serving of Pro JYM. Whey protein isolate makes up 7.5 grams, micellar casein makes up 7 grams, and milk protein isolate makes up 7 grams, and the remaining 2.5 grams comes from egg white protein (egg albumen). That totals 24 grams from complete proteins with no added amino acids or filler nutrients.

The Power of Pro

As with every other supplement in the JYM line, I want you to know the exact ingredients and doses in Pro JYM. I want you to see that it contains nothing but a pure blend of high-quality proteins in the exact amounts needed to maximize growth, recovery, and repair. In short, I want you to grow like a pro.

Prepare to experience the power of real science, real ingredients, and unreal results.

I don't know what garbage this is that you are trying to pass off as chocolate cookie crunch . I Just talked to's customer service and they said I could send it back and exchange it for something else. I absolutely will not purchase Jym products again until they go back to the old formula. Those of you that say it tastes like the original just stop. This is just the disgusting chocolate mousse pro jym with cookie pieces sprinkled in. Those that worship them "jym brand" will never say it tastes bad, but the rest us know this new 2.0 version is trash. I suggest you look else where until their sales decline and they get the hint. I stuck with you guys after Jim split the first time and I know you still have the old formula, so for those of us that didn't leave you when Jim did, I'm begging you to pull the old formula out of the vault and start producing it again.

I ordered this product about two months ago from I have to say im stunned at what a poor product it is. I dont even know where to begin. Well first of all im a medical doctor who has invested time in sports science and I have tried many products. I dont write review and i dont give negative ratings. But this product is so outrightly a fraud that I have to write this. First of all lets establish this fact Whey Isolates are the most expensive and refined form of protein. Casein is a different longer acting slow absorbing BUT cheaper protein even if its Casein isolates. When I used the product I immediately noticed its very hard to digest and causes heaviness in stomach. Then I got suspicious that the casein portion is very dense and when I let it sit for an hour of course a very thick white layer forms (thats casein). Now why would you sell cheap form of protein and sell it mostly as Whey isolates? I know you have written Casein isolates on the label but I didnt pay for Casein isolates. im Paying for Whey isolates. The taste is beyond horrible as it has Aspartame so leaves a bitter after taste and casein is mostly poor tasting protein. I would not recommend this protein. Now im stuck with 4 pounds of garbage I cant use.

Can anyone tell us WHY they removed/changed the original Chocolate Cookie Crunch & Vanilla flavors?!? Was there a problem with the product (was it dangerous)? Was there a problem with the manufacturer or patent? Did someone steal the recipes??? Why can't you make the original products? The original Chocolate Cookie Crunch was AMAZING and completely helped my motivation (and physique). The original Vanilla was incredible, too. BUT NOW? Ugh. They are not the same. Just tell us what happened! It is unbelievably frustrating that the recipes and flavors have changed. There HAS to be a good reason why you can't make them, and I wish you would just share that with us. Otherwise, PLEASE FIX THIS. Anyone know where we can get the old Chocolate Cookie Crunch & Vanilla flavors?

I love the protein and my muscle recovery is great when using it but the flavors are disappointing. I know these contain Casein but the protein becomes very very thick especially with the Banana Cream.

As a long time buyer of Chocolate Cookie Crunch, I had lots in stock when they stopped producing it. I was worried when I couldn't find it to order more. Then last month they said it was available again. I ordered 2 big tubs and just ran out of the old last night. I mixed up the new one today at the gym and was really surprised that there was some powder stuck in the bottom. No matter how hard I shook it, it wouldn't mix. Didn't think too much about that until I took a sip. WTF? This is NOT the same! It's got a strange aftertaste and the flavor is really flat. I get home and compare labels...and see that I got a bait and switch. The formulation is very different. And worse, it upset my stomach! I would have been a customer for life of the old one. Unless they bring it back, I'll be looking for another protein. This is just retarded.

Used to love Pro Jym. Like many of the other reviews here, the new line is garbage. I literally went from a jar of the old Vanilla flavour (delicious and easy to mix) to the Tahitian Vanilla Bean and it was like night and day. Not only is the Tahitian Vanilla Bean tasteless (unless you consider chalk a taste), it mixes horribly as well. I once loyal Jym customer, I will be looking elsewhere for my protein powders.

What happened to the old awesome flavor of Chocolate Cookie Crunch? This new flavor tastes nothing like the old delicious one! Truly disappointed in the change!

YOU RUINED CHOCOLATE COOKIE CRUNCH!!! High quality protein for sure, but the flavors are just garbage since moving to the 2.0 line. Bring back the clean creamer and dump the coconut creamer and make the protein less thick and bloating while instantly improving every flavor and the mixability. CHOCOLATE COOKIE CRUNCH WAS RUINED!!!! I can already tell that I'm going to be highly disappointed when S'mores comes out again. They were my 2 favorite flavors and they will be junk now.

I use to LOVE Pro Jym’s Chocolate Cookie Crunch and would consistently buy it for years. Sadly that day has come to say good bye. The formula has changed and it taste yucky now. The artificial sugar taste is strong and the chocolate now taste bland/weak. We had a great run Jym. I chatted with bodybuilding customer svc and that rep agreed and said it was good before but doesn’t know why Jym changed his formula. I’ll be trying out Evlution Nutrition Stacked Protein that has 9.7 - 10 ratings on here.

Used to absolutely love this protein (chocolate cookie crunch) because of the quality and delicious flavor. We were very disappointed when chocolate cookie crunch went out of stock and quickly bought it when it came back only to be sorely disappointed that the flavor had completely changed and it's disgusting now. Won't be buying more of this. S'mores is okay if you really want to use it.

  • 9 Tahitian Vanilla Bean

This was my first time using ProJym. I liked the vanilla as it had a very light, not overly sweet flavor. Was very slighly grainy in texture. Used it as shake and in baking. Baked in nicely.
